We are excited to welcome young learners back for MCC鈥檚 2026 Summer Youth College hosted by MCC Workforce Solutions. During their time at MCC, students will "major" in fun! Each class is designed to be interactive, educational, and鈥攎ost importantly鈥攅xciting!
Campus Experience & Program Overview
At MCC Summer Youth College, students don鈥檛 just attend camp鈥攖hey build their own schedule and experience "college life" in a fun and engaging way! Designed for children entering 1st through 6th grade, this half-day program allows students to enroll in a variety of exciting courses, choosing subjects that match their interests鈥攋ust like a real college student!

- Who Can Attend? Children entering 1st through 6th grade in Fall 2026.
- How Do Students Choose Classes? Class selections are made at registration, so attending the Early Bird event is the best way to secure top choices!
- How much does it cost? - $99 during the two-day early bird registration, $125 after.
- A 25% sibling discount for two or more students from one immediate family is available.
- T-Shirt, Graduation picture, daily snacks, instruction & fun included in price.

during early bird registration. Registration forms can be downloaded at the bottom
of the page.
*Insurance cards are required for registration.
Regular Registration
After the Early Bird event, registration will continue at the standard rate of $125 per child. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged to ensure your child gets their preferred classes!

Course Options & Details
During registration, you will rank classes from the list below. Schedules will be based on your child's top choices and availability of that course at the time of paid registration. Your student will attend the same three classes each day. Class enrollment is limited, if first choice is full, 2nd choice will be added.
KITCHEN EXPLORERS (in partnership with Hopkins Co. Extension Office)
Get ready to mix, measure, and make something delicious! In Kitchen Explorers, kids will step into the kitchen to create cool and tasty treats each day鈥攍ike fluffy pancakes, colorful parfaits, and even crunchy homemade pickles. Along the way, students will learn how to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and practice kitchen safety. Through hands-on fun, teamwork, and a sprinkle of creativity, young chefs will build confidence, explore new flavors, and discover that learning in the kitchen is both exciting and delicious!
OLD FASHIONED FUN
Students will discover the joy of making things from scratch using natural ingredients like churning butter, creating homemade noodles and biscuits and crafting their own aprons from old shirts. Students will also design table decorations and other creative projects from naturally made products. This class promotes creativity, collaboration, confidence and an appreciation for making this naturally from scratch.
HEALTHCARE HEROES (in partnership with Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville/West AHEC)
Get ready to become a Health Care Hero! In this fun and action-packed class students will explore exciting careers in health care鈥攆rom doctors and nurses to paramedics and medical technicians鈥攁nd discover how they help people every day. We鈥檒l learn how organizations like the American Red Cross teach lifesaving skills, and kids will practice important, CPR awareness steps, and what to do in an emergency. Through hands-on activities, and teamwork challenges, students will build confidence, learn real-world safety skills, and feel empowered to make a difference!
FIELD DAY FUN FEST
Get ready to run, race, and cheer! In this action-packed class, students will jump into a high-energy field day filled with exciting relays, wacky team challenges, and cooperative games designed for nonstop fun. From obstacle courses and teamwork races to creative group challenges that test speed, strategy, and spirit, every activity encourages kids to move their bodies, build friendships, and practice great sportsmanship. With plenty of laughs, teamwork, and friendly competition, this class is all about staying active, supporting one another, and having an unforgettable day of fun!
MUSIC MAKERS & SHAKERS
Get ready to make some music! In Music Makers & Shakers, kids will explore the joy of playing instruments like the ukulele, drum sticks, and keyboard. Students will learn basic rhythms, melodies, and chords while practicing fun songs and simple tunes. Through hands-on play, group activities, and creative exercises, kids will build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for music. By the end of class, every student will be making rhythms, strumming songs, and playing together in a mini band!
THINK. BUILD. CREATE. THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE!
Get ready to think, build, and make things MOVE! In this hands-on class, students will explore cause and effect by designing exciting chain reactions鈥攚here one action triggers the next in a creative sequence. Kids will design and construct playable games, invent fun challenges for others to try, and create moving builds that travel from Point A to Point B in clever ways. Using teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world engineering thinking, students will test, tweak, and improve their creations while having tons of fun bringing their big ideas to life!
CRAZY WEIRD SCIENCE
Step into a world of messy, magical, and totally wacky science! In this class, students will explore fun experiments that fizz, pop, ooze, and glow. From colorful chemical reactions to crazy physics tricks and slimy creations, every activity turns science into hands-on excitement. Kids will make predictions, test ideas, and discover the 鈥渨hy鈥 behind the wow, all while having a blast experimenting, laughing, and learning together. Prepare to get curious, creative, and a little messy in the most fun science lab ever!
ART CREATIONS
Unleash your imagination and bring your ideas to life in Art Creations! This class is full of hands-on fun with painting, drawing, sculpting, and crafting. Students will explore different materials, techniques, and styles to create unique masterpieces they can be proud of. From colorful paintings to 3D sculptures and mixed-media projects, every session encourages creativity, self-expression, and a love for making art. Kids will experiment, play, and discover that in Art Creations, the only limit is their imagination!
EXPERIENCE BIGFOOT
In this fun and engaging class, students will explore the mystery of Bigfoot (also called Sasquatch), the giant, furry creature some people believe lives in the forests of North America. Through games, crafts, and hands-on activities, kids examine footprints, learning how scientists study animals, and using their imagination to decide whether Bigfoot is real or simply an exciting legend.
